Overview

I have built a remote controlled airplane for my high school capstone project. The plan was to learn how the wing generated lift and how to control the aircraft. Also, to design my own controller.

Design & Challenges

Building the plane was the easy part. However, designing a functional controller was a significant challenge. I had to learn about radio frequency communication and implement a custom control system. Due to inexperience, the controller took much longer than expected to develop and test. And I got an already built controller.

Results

In the end, the airplane was functional. We flew it several times during the testing phase. It was a very fun project. I learned how important it is to test before you build, and not blindly follow instructions online.
